Do you wish to uphold the honor code and become a part of one of the most prestigious student groups on campus? [3] ----- Health Advisors -----The new Will Rice/McMurtry Health Advisors for the 2009-2010 school year are Justin Lin, Yara Hamade, and Yasmine Gharbaoui!
The Rice Health Advisors are a new organization of people that are meant to be your liaisons between the Rice Counseling Center, Health Services, and Wellness Center! We're the people you go see for your non-emergency medical needs! (both physical and mental) Even if you just need someone to talk to, we're here to help you out!
If you're on campus at McMurtry and need some medical supplies, feel free to knock on Justin's door (room 449) for some! Our health kits include: bandaids (large and small), thermometers, antibiotic ointment, hydrocortisone itch cream, alcohol wipes, tampons, maxi pads, acetaminophen (pain reliever/fever reducer), ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory), earplugs, condoms, lubricant, cough drops, gauze, ace bandages, and cold compresses.
[4] ----- Beer Bike Area Coordinator -----Hey Rice!
Applications are now open for the Area Coordinator positions for Beer Bike 2010! Area Coordinators are the members of the campus-wide Beer Bike committee in charge of managing the parade, security, judges, track, concessions, and event publicity. Descriptions of the different areas are provided on the application form. This is one of the best ways to get involved with Rice's most unique and exciting event! Applications are due October 2 and may be returned by e-mail to BeerBike@rice.edu or turned in at the RPC office at the RMC. Feel free to e-mail us with any questions.

[5] ----- RPC Events -----Screw-Yer-Roommate:
Hey guys! So, RPC's first BIG campus-wide event is coming SOON! Screw-Yer-Roommate is going to be awesome this year (basically, the best screw of your life). Here's how it works: Find a date for your roommate, then talk to date's roommate and figure out how you are going to get the two to meet. Dress them up in crazy couple costumes, like Adam and Eve or PB&J. Meet in the Academic Quad to find your date go have dinner with your date (and a group of friends) and then meet back at Willy's Pub to swap stories and have fun! More details and timings to come soon but there are only two weeks left until Screw! (It's on September 18th)

FREE MUSEUM DISTRICT DAY IS SEPTEMBER 12TH FROM 10 - 5!!
Spend the entire day exploring favorite museums and discovering new destinations. Museum District Day will feature a free shuttle bus between fascinating exhibitions, hands-on activities, demonstrations and performances throughout the day. Seventeen museums will waive their general admission fee to offer the community the opportunity to enjoy the District’s diverse displays of art, science, nature and history.

GLEE WATCH PARTY
Queers and Allies and the Rice Program Council Arts and Entertainment Committee will be hosting a showing of the new TV show Glee in Willy's Pub (more about the show here: http://www.fox.com/glee).
At 7:00pm will be Queers and Allies first meeting of the semester.
Food will be provided at 7:30, and the show will start at 8:00.
After, there will be a special performance by Rice's own a cappella group, the Rice Philharmonics!

[9] ----- Pre-Law Students Part-Time Job -----River Oaks area attorney search firm seeks energetic, quick-learning interns to assist with database management in addition to occasional projects. The primary responsibility will be to input and update data into the firm’s proprietary database of Houston lawyers, law firms, and corporations. This requires highly organized, detail oriented individuals with the maturity and judgment to handle confidential information with discretion. The atmosphere is professional but relaxed, and the hours are flexible. The position has long been staffed by excellent Rice students looking for a part-time position that accommodates their class schedules. Pay starts at $10/hr and increases after training period ends.

[10] ----- Parking and Construction -----Please be advised that beginning Friday, September 4th, a small portion of roadway on the southern-side of campus Entrance 9 will be closed for the construction of a new parking access control island. The entrance will be closed the entire duration of the project which is expected to complete by Friday, September 18th.
West Lot 5 will be restricted to one entry point only behind the Rice Police building nearest the Post Office. Access to the South Stadium Parking Lot will be by way of the east entrance from University Blvd. for vehicles. Access to the athletic facilities for pedestrians, bicycles and carts will be unaffected.
