Done with finals? Would you like to make some extra cash? Wonder-Space is
a group of educational consultants (Rice Alumni) that provide tutoring
services to students in the Houston area. We're currently looking for
tutors that can take on some clients in the next couple weeks through the
end of May. We tutor everyone including elementary students, college, and
adults returning to education after many years. Pay is $12-20/hr, depending
on experience. Earn more for tutoring done in clients' homes. Hours are
flexible (work from 2-20hrs/week)!

Our tutors are all outgoing, exceptionally smart, and have excellent
teaching and communication skills. They serve as role models and mentors to
students while motivating and challenging them in various subjects. The
office atmosphere is lively, energetic, and very conducive for growth
potential. Most of our tutors are Rice University college students, and we
prefer to get more, but other university students--please apply!

Dirty Dozen
1.) What is your hometown?
Houston. She was born and raised in H-town. She had never visited Rice before Vision weekend. Small world.
2.) What is your major?
Cognitive Science and Sociology. She will be starting a massive project on the consequences of developmental learning on drug and alcohol abuse. She’s super excited about it. She began to reminisce about the DARE program. I was just as surprised as she was to learn that some people don’t go through it. Remember kids: Don’t do drugs.
3.) What is your earliest memory for school?
She remembers her classmates. The girl who sit next to her sneezed all the time. Gross. She thought everyone was as gross as that girl.
4.) What is a fun random fact?
She can lick her elbow. It’s actually physically impossible to lick your elbow. After reading that, most people will give it a try. Admit it, you went for it. I think she got close though.
5.) Do you have a job on campus?
She works at the business school. She gets to meet lots of old people and free food. Win win.
6.) What about your family?
She has six siblings. I made her play favorites, and she chose her little sister. She’s 8 and her nickname from this Will Ricer is pikachu. The cuteness factor played big in her decision.
7.) What is your favorite fruit?
Grapefruit. In fact, she sums herself up by saying grapefruit, clouds, serial killers, and memory. She says everyone’s going to think she’s a freak, but she’s not. We love her anyway.
8.) Did you put anything interesting on your o-week form?
For the question about who you would invite to dinner, she put Peter Pan, Hannibal Lector, and Steven Hawking. Inviting a cannibal to dine really freaked her future roommate out, but she’s just interested in the psychology behind it. Her roommate was a bit less risqué in her choices.
9.) What about music?
She had never been to a concert before this year, but she’s been to several this year including ACL. Extra points for visiting Austin. That outweighs any kind of interest in serial killers in my book.
10.) What is your favorite thing about Will Rice?
She likes the community. She loves how people can just congregate in the quad, and she loves beer bike. She coadvised at Hanszen and thought that their nickname of the “family college” was appropriate. She’s now taking it back. I’m liking her more and more; too bad this interview’s about to be over.
11.) Barbie of Ken (Her oweek group at Hanszen)?
Barbie. Ken’s boring
12.) Cheese or crackers?
Cheese
13.) What is your name?
Cristina Tortarolo
